Current Research Interests: I perform human subjects research at the intersection of the field of Communication Studies and Human Robot Interaction. My time as a doctoral student at the University of Texas has opened my eyes to the incredible opportunities, collaboration, and communicative intricacies related to humans and robots living and working together. I've had the pleasure of serving as both a research and lead research assistant for an transdisciplinary multi-million dollar NSF funded research grant, taking part in professional development courses with other career-focused UT graduate students, and now working on UT Good Systems Grand Challenge project - Living and Working with Robots. I've performed both quantitative and qualitative research - conducting ~100 interviews, distributing research surveys, and designing and performing experimental lab studies. I have attended and presented multiple times at the National Communication Association conference, IEEE RO-MAN, and currently have other collaborative work under review for publication. My perspective always takes a human-centered focus, seeking to understand how interaction, communication, and power influence our daily lives with machines. Please reach out if you have any questions about our program/department - I'm always happy to help!
