Jennifer Betancourt serves the Department of Communication Studies, Chair, and unit leadership with support of academic, faculty and administrative management.  She is responsible for the instructional budget, course scheduling, human resource management, faculty promotion/Tenure, and any other tasks which need to be taken on. Jennifer also works closely with the College's academic advisors for academic planning and course management.

Jennifer’s background includes Military, Public and Academic service. Her varied experience lends themselves well to her Administrative Manager position.

Outside of the office Jennifer loves to spend time with her ever growing family and friends. Crafting and sewing are two of her hobbies. Quilts are a necessary gift from “Aunt Nif,” no niece or nephew left behind!

Jenn Porras

Jennifer “Jenn” Porras serves as the Sr. Academic Graduate Program Coordinator for CMS. She has 15 years of higher education experience that includes undergraduate advising, admissions, and recruitment. She is a recipient of the James W. Vick Award for outstanding advisor in 2020. As a first-generation college student, she is deeply passionate about helping others achieve their college goals. She holds a B.A in International Studies and an M.A. in Women and Gender studies. Outside of the office, Jenn is an avid lover of movies, music, and true crime podcasts and shows. Her favorite spot in Austin is the boardwalk on Lady Bird Lake.

Laura Vaught is the Senior Administrative Associate for the Department of Communication Studies. She has nearly a decade of experience in higher education with a specific focus on academic assessment and administrative management. She oversees all course scheduling and exhibits a high level of expertise in data and document management for the department. She is passionate about fostering genuine connection through transparent communication and skilled support. Originally a Florida native and no stranger to southern humidity, she is an avid reader, enjoys hanging out with friends, and loves trying new restaurants.

Lisa Moseley

Lisa Moseley, Senior Administrative Associate for the Communication Studies department, has over 25 years of experience with UT Austin accounting policies and procedures. Lisa’s expertise includes travel pre-authorization and reimbursement, payroll, accounting, and reconciliation. Other jobs include inventory tracking, new hire onboarding, CMS speaker series, and conference administration, UTNIF Summer Camp and UT Forensic team support.

Jenny Rosario is the Administrative Associate for the Department of Communication Studies. She provides operational support to faculty and staff and assists with financial management, inventory, and event planning. Her background includes 10 years in education as a teacher, and administrative management experience. Outside of work, Jenny loves to spend time with her daughter Luna, watch movies, and read. She also enjoys being involved in the local theatre community.
