Jennifer Betancourt serves the Department of Communication Studies, Chair, and unit leadership with support of academic, faculty and administrative management.  She is responsible for the instructional budget, course scheduling, human resource management, faculty promotion/Tenure, and any other tasks which need to be taken on. Jennifer also works closely with the College's academic advisors for academic planning and course management.

Jennifer’s background includes Military, Public and Academic service. Her varied experience lends themselves well to her Administrative Manager position.

Outside of the office Jennifer loves to spend time with her ever growing family and friends. Crafting and sewing are two of her hobbies. Quilts are a necessary gift from “Aunt Nif”, no niece or nephew left behind!


Vicky Moseley

Lisa Moseley, Senior Administrative Associate for the Communication Studies department has over 21 years of experience with UT Austin accounting policies and procedures. Lisa’s expertise includes travel pre-authorization and reimbursement, payroll, accounting and reconciliation. Other jobs include inventory tracking, new hire onboarding, CMS speaker series and conference administration, UTNIF Summer Camp and UT Forensic team support.


Saúl Palomo

Saúl serves the department as the first point of contact with students, faculty, visitors, and the general public, responding to inquiries via department phone, email, and walk-in traffic. For CMS students, he makes sure that they have any and all of the materials they need to be successful during their time here. For faculty, he provides support with obtaining rooms for classes and meetings as well as organizing calendars, course instructor surveys, grade reporting, and updating our website.

CMS' physical space is under his care as well, from managing our conference room reservations, making sure our student cubicle and office spaces are up to par, to clearing paper jams in our departmental printer. Saúl is a jack of all trades and will take care of things before you even ask!

Born and raised a TRUE Austinite, he bleeds burnt orange and loves all things Austin, even through it's drastic never-ending changes.


Anne Bormann

Graduate Program Coordinator

Anne manages the Department of Communication Studies Graduate Office along with the Graduate Advisor. She is the main contact for new graduate student recruitment, admissions, and orientation events. As GC, Anne also assists with paperwork and maintains student records​, provides information to students on department policies and procedures, helps with student funding​ and fellowships, acts as a liaison for students with the Graduate School​, and is a nonpartisan resource for academic questions and concerns​.

Anne is a dedicated professional and passionate about working directly with students who are trying to figure how to navigate and explore college and future life- and career-options. She enjoys the holistic nature of this work to support students through the admissions, orientation, and advising processes, all the way to graduation. Using her strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills, she creates and delivers relevant resources for students so they can achieve the highest possible success. Anne is currently pursuing a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy at UT.

Anne was born in Austin, and is also proud to be a TRUE Austinite. She is a mom of two college aged boys, and enjoys being active, doing yoga and spending time outdoors.
