Since its founding in 1899, Moody College’s Department of Communication Studies has been known by many names. These signified its changing role in society from public speaking to speech communication, and today, to the myriad ways we connect and make sense of the world, from how we interact in business and political campaigns to our personal relationships and across national and international borders.
In the past one and a quarter century, the Department of Communication Studies has grown to include five tracks, enrolls more than 700 undergraduate majors and minors and 70 traditional graduate students, and boasts world-renowned speech and debate teams. The oldest department in the College of Communication, celebrating its 125th anniversary also celebrates 125 years of Moody College. We invite you to join us in the celebration!
