Honor Society Launches

Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society Launches with 96 Members

The Department of Communication Studies has launched the Alpha Zeta Xi chapter of the National Communication Association’s (NCA) Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society. Currently, our chapter has ninety-six student members. Faculty member Dina Inman Ramgolam has been the driving force behind getting this chapter at UT Austin started.

The standards for prospective students joining are as follows:

  • Have completed between 60 and 200 semester credit-hours
  • Have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
  • Have completed at least 12 hours in Communication Studies
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.25 for all Communication Studies courses
  • Have not earned a degree from UT

Lambda Pi Eta recognizes, fosters, and rewards outstanding scholastic achievement in Communication Studies. The honor society strives to stimulate interest in the field of communication and encourage professional development among Communication Studies majors. The program also provides an opportunity for students to discuss and exchange ideas in the field of communication while establishing and maintaining closer relationships with faculty. Lastly, the Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society provides students with resources to explore options for graduate education in Communication Studies.
