Current Research Interests: Samia’s research interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence, algorithmic systems, and corporate reputation, with a broader focus on how AI technologies influence public trust, ethical standards, and organizational legitimacy in the digital age. Building on her master’s thesis titled AI Bias in Streaming Platform Recommendation Systems: Exploring the Impact on Corporate Reputation, her work explores how algorithmic bias affects content visibility, user experience, and the reputational standing of the corporations that deploy these systems. Recent controversies surrounding AI tools such as Grok on X and Meta AI’s approach to misinformation and content moderation have highlighted the growing societal concerns over algorithmic transparency, fairness, and accountability. These developments emphasize the reputational and ethical challenges faced by companies integrating AI into user-facing platforms. During her PhD, she aims to broaden her research to encompass not only streaming platforms but also social media, generative AI, and automated decision-making across sectors, with the goal of advancing understanding of how algorithmic technologies shape digital ethics, stakeholder trust, and the evolving role of corporate responsibility in complex socio-technical environments.
