Current Research Interests:October Heffner is a Communication scholar at the University of Texas at Austin, pursuing a Ph.D. in communication. Heffner's work focuses on gender, sports, and popular culture, offering unique perspectives on gendered athletic spaces and the influence of gender dominance on culture and space. By utilizing rhetorical analysis, sports communication literature, and rhetorical scholarship, Heffner's research aims to provide answers to questions regarding how sport culture and gender interact.
