It is hard to know where to set the limits for a list like this. Some of these people were born in Texas but did most of their music in Nashville or Los Angeles or some other place. Some of them were born in those other places but landed in Texas to develop their musical style. Some of them live in Texas. Oh, well, we’ll just include everyone that seems to have had or to be having either an influence on musical developments in the state or to have created a Texas sound outside the state. Maybe that is everybody but Springsteen and Sinatra. . . .
