Emily Ball Cicchini practices and studies how the Internet is (and is not) changing the way groups of people interact. In practical application, she’s interested in how narrative and performative communication is evolving to suit digitally delivered media, including social and traditional media with a focus on development, production, and distribution. As a theoretical framework, she’s interested in how metaphor operates as a message across time, space, matter, and culture. She seeks to blend qualitative and quantitative methods to communicate how the internet intersects with our experience of truth and knowledge.
