Current Research Interests: Joy Melody's research focuses on how Black women communicate about health across the lifespan. For her doctoral studies, she has focused on Black women, reproductive health, and maternal health. She is hoping to do a dissertation investigating how Black women's discussions, both intragenerational and intergenerational, play a role in health decision making.
