Assistant professor Jorge Peña received a €200,000 grant from the Portuguese Republic via the Fundacao para a Ciencia e a Tecnologia. This UT-Portugal project will explore social identification and intercultural cooperation in virtual environments. In partnership with Portuguese computer scientists, Dr. Peña will design and evaluate a virtual platform for international collaborations. The funds will allow the R&D team to travel as needed and to disseminate the results of this three-year long project. These funds will also support the work of graduate student researchers at UT.
