Coach's Workshop

Professional Development for both New and Experienced Coaches!

The UT National Institute in Forensics is a Texas Education Association official provider of continuing education for speech educators, provider #501152.

Coaches Workshop in Individual Events: $1000 (Additional $200 discount for new coaches!)

Coaches' Workshops Concurrent with Student Sessions: Coaches who join us during these sessions will receive continuous exposure to our educational practices, whether topic analysis & theory in debate, interpretation & performance theory, or coaching of extemp and oratory. Coaches will receive copies of pedagogical materials for reproduction and use in your own curriculum.

Coach workshops are perfect for those new coaches first entering the discipline and experienced coaches looking for a refresher course or for new methods of coaching. The workshops include exposure to the regular instructional curriculum, as well as guest lectures by our accomplished staff in every division. Participants in the program receive instructional materials and development for coaching Oral Interpretation, General Public Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Original Oratory. Participants will also observe lecture series and coaching sessions from some of the top professionals in the field and watch developing student performances from students enrolled in the concurrent student institutes.

Participants in the Individual Events camp will receive pedagogy for Interpretation, Oratory, and Extemporaneous Speaking and attend your choice of daily lecture topics, enabling you to construct the best schedule to meet your needs. IE coach session participants will also observe individual coaching sessions and evening performances as part of our Showcase series.
